If I could do it all over again... Part 7

Here is the end of what happened with me and Daniel. After the happening of our last class together I spent the week with feelings of remorse and regret. They appeared as soon as I left his hotel room and were with me for as long as I can remember. Daniel canceled three classes in a row and this made me feel even worse since he had NEVER canceled a single class with me before. I had pretty much given up on having him as a student so I wrote him a note clearing things up, saying how sorry I was for my unprofessionalism but specially for being so selfish and not thinking on the repercussions that it would bring in the future - in his relationship with his girlfriend, his own feelings of guilt, his progress in his english and even in our friendship -  and it ended telling him that it wouldn't ever happen again and still hoped we could go back to being the good friends we were. I slipped the note under his hotel door and then went to give a class to his workmate, Julia. Same hotel, different room. I was chatting with her when she tells me that Daniel was real weird the past few days because his girlfriend, Marisa, broke up with him. The first thought that came into my mind was: "Oh God, he told her all that happened!" but I stayed quiet and tried to act normal while I was hurting inside and feeling even worse than I had ever felt since the "hot room episode". As soon as I arrived home from my class my cell phone rang and I heard Daniel's voice on the other line. He told me he had gotten my note and read it and that he wasn't mad at me at all but was only having some problems with his girlfriend as they had fought last week when he went to SP. (He didnt mention anything about her breaking up with him though). I asked him if that was because he had told her about what had happened between us and he calmed my fears telling me that it didnt have anything to do with what had happened and she didnt even have a clue of that night's happenings. That was the best thing I had heard that day, though it didnt change much the way it made me feel. He was real nice on the phone and we talked a bit and in the end he asked if he could go back to having classes in two weeks as he needed some time to figure things out in his head but that in two weeks he'd be good to go back to studying English. I let him know I didn't have a problem with that and that as long as he was fine I was ok with it too. And so that is it...pretty much the end of my sad tale...most likely it will still go on as he will continue being my student but I personally will from now on leave it completely and strictly professional - not only with him but will all my students. I have learnt my lesson.
