Such a cheater...

Life is such a big cheater. It cheats us out of so many things. Sometimes I wish I could go back to being a little girl and cry out loud: "UNFAIR!!!" and just by voicing that out loud I'd go back to feeling good about myself...not so these days anyways. Life, or fate chooses people... like for example: Gypsy... she is a plain 19 year old. She lives in a gorgeous house with a full time maid, has a driver that takes her to school everyday, her room looks like it came out of a fairybook tale, next year she is going to the States to learn English fluently and travel around, her present for having entered college is a brand new car,her wardrobe has every acessory and piece of clothes imaginable and desirable to someone of the female race (today she was showing me her little "shoe collection") and add up to all this she just came back from Bon Jovi's show in SP and is going to Black Eyed Peas show this weekend...of course, always VIP! And then there comes the normal taboo and what everyone else says: "Oh, she must have all those things but doesnt have real friends, her parents can afford to give her all the material wants she craves but time is something that is missing in her life; her spiritual life is at crisis, etc. etc." but no, quite the opposite. She has parents that she can feel free to tell anything to at anytime, she goes to mass every Sunday and has a pretty close relationship with God (like, not a far away, distant relationship that's what most people have) but what I envy MOST of her is her being able to afford buying ANY book she wants ANYTIME!!! She pratically has a library in her room...invejaaa hahahaha...
A few weeks ago I was doing my nails and decided I would put on a movie to watch as I went through the long process of soaking, filing, cutting, painting and then waiting for my nails to dry... my dad reccomended me a "slow but nice movie" called "Dear John". I watched it twice. My sister joined me the second time and halfway through the movie said out loud: "What is that noise? OMG Chris, it's you crying!!!" Yes, I cried my eyes out. It stayed in my mind for days. It made an impact. And lo and behold, today when I was admiring Gypsy's mini "library" this book stares me in the face: "Dear John" and before I knew it, my treasured prize was in my bag and in my hands while I sat in the bus going to my next class. As always, not everything is the same as it is in the movie. In the movie the main character, Savannah is this stunning blond beauty with this unconciouss naïveté all about her. In the book she is a short, good looking tan girl. And there are quite a few other differences, but nothing too huge that would make the story any less than what it is - which by the way is GREAT! I only started reading it this evening but wasnt able to put the book down and am on page 80 some... I bet I will finish it tomorrow or by the most the day after...depending how many seats I can catch on the buses I take.
Retracing a few steps about me murmuring (geez, I havent used that expression in a LONG time...) I know this all sounds pretty bad me complaining about life and comparing myself with my student but it's not that bad... I vented it out and now I can go back to the main facts of today...or more, of tonight... Gypsy isn't in the best of terms with her boyfriend so she called me to go out with her partying since tomorrow will be a holliday. I only accepted because tomorrow my first class starts at 10:30 (MIRACLE!!!) and it will be here at home so I wont have to leave home an hour before to catch a bus and blah...so yes, deal done! By another miracle, I (or more like, she) was able to convince my brother to go with us so now my main task will be to get dressed and going... going where? TO PARTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! pics will be posted...oh yeah baby, oh yeah... :P
